We’re delighted that Bedrock Healthcare Communications has won the Agility & Flexibility category at the 2022 Communiqué Awards, in recognition of our virtual consensus programme run on behalf of Merck KGaA titled ‘MS and the COVID-19 vaccination’. The award is designed to recognise outstanding achievement in flexing thinking and processes to ensure success.
The consensus programme outputs were designed to provide clarity to HCPs treating MS patients about using the COVID-19 vaccine. We built a fully remote community of experts who came together to reach consensus within a record-breaking time frame.
In their award feedback the judges said: “Bedrock and Merck put together a really strong entry that felt like an imperative “must do” with a clear patient benefit. They had rigour in the assessment and had to get clear consensus guidelines in a short time frame. The judges were impressed by the thinking behind the work and liked the agility. It ticks all the boxes, was very impressive and really stood out.”

Commenting on the award, Marie Little, MD of Bedrock said “We would like to add special congratulations to Hashem Salloukh of Merck KGaA for partnering and trusting us on this journey. I’d also like to thank the Bedrock team who worked so hard to make this dream come true. They really are dedicated freethinkers transforming medical communications! And finally, thank you to the Communiqué judging panel for recognising the importance and impact of consensus programmes.”
The award and the success of the consensus programme reflects the benefits of agile working in healthcare communications. It’s an approach we believe our core values support – such as freethinking which comes from a place of knowing that issues and insights are going to pop up when you least expect them. Being agile keeps us open to these moments. Agile also means being dynamically driven, ready to change the path as new information becomes available.
